Seitan is a food with a high nutritional level, perfect for vegan or vegetarian diets.

Indication

Seitan is also called "vegetable meat" because of its protein content, texture and appearance. It is the protein of wheat, gluten. The protein content of seitan is 24% of its weight. It is softer and easier to digest than meat or eggs. It is low in calories and low in fat. It contains abundant lecithin. Seitan has more calcium and minerals than meat but less salt. With this product we can make the same dishes that we would do with the meat: it can be grilled, fried, battered, breaded, braised ... As a curiosity we can say that it is called "Budha food" because the monk pacifists Buddhists used it as a substitute for meat. Due to its high protein content, it is a good food for athletes, since it helps them develop their muscles.
