Biodiversity since 1921

A laboratory, a garden of medicinal plants and a hospital: this is how our story begins.
Doctor Ita Wegman, philosopher Rudolf Steiner and chemist Oskar Schmiedel founded Weleda.
With courage and a revolutionary idea full of values: to offer natural and organic products that are responsible with the planet, animals and people.

Weleda's founders longed for a better future and had the courage to break new ground and inspire others with value-laden messages.

They investigated the connections between the earth, the body and the mind. To make medicines and cosmetics based on natural active ingredients.

Natural care for your skin

We use raw materials of 100% natural origin, of which 80% come from certified organic agriculture.

We avoid any use of polluting raw materials, such as microplastics, genetically modified ingredients or mineral oils derived from petroleum.

In addition, we are certified by the NaTrue seal, UEBT and B-Corp.

Reference in sustainability and biodiversity

Eight gardens full of biodiversity and with more than 50 responsible cultivation projects we improve local conditions for people and nature around the world.
We not only take care of the skin, we also actively fight for biodiversity and continue to reduce our emissions to become a CO2-neutral company.

Health & Beauty

Our cosmetics aim to take care of the skin from a holistic approach. And this requires keeping in mind the well-being of nature, guaranteeing the best care for the area and responsibility towards the people involved in making our cosmetics.
