Description
Lamberts Acetyl-L-Carnitine is an altered form of the amino acid, L-Carnitine, and is one of the most researched forms of Carnitine.
Properties and benefits of Acetyl-L-Carnitine
Carnitine is an important amino acid that is made in the body from lysine in the presence of vitamin C, and is found mainly in foods of animal origin.
Its most important known metabolic function is to transport long-chain fatty acids to the mitochondria of muscle cells, (including those of the myocardium), where they are oxidized producing energy.
Carnitine is also responsible for the elimination of waste products from the mitochondria.
L-Carnitine, and in particular Acetyl L-Carnitine, is widely recommended by health professionals.
