Description
Saccharomyces Boulardii by KlaireLabs is a non-pathogenic, transient yeast, used for a long time to withstand normal intestinal transit time. It is an acid resistant and temperature resistant microorganism that is not affected by antibacterial agents. S. boulardii is genetically and functionally distinct from brewer's yeast (S. cerevisiae) and different from the pathogenic candida species. S. boulardii increases the activities of intestinal brush border enzymes such as disaccharidases, α-glucosidases, alkaline phosphatases, and aminopeptidases.
Properties and benefits of Saccharomyces Boulardii
This product increases intestinal absorption of D-glucose along with sodium which can increase the uptake of water and electrolytes during occasional diarrhea. Increases the stool concentrations of short-chain fatty acids that nourish the cells of the lining of the colon. It modulates immunity by increasing intestinal secretion of IgA and increasing immunoglobulin receptors in crypt cells. Supports the healthy inflammatory response.
