Description
Krill oil is considered essential because it cannot be produced by the body and must be obtained from other sources. Fatty acids are the basic components of which fats and oils are made up.
Properties and benefits of Krill Oil
Omega-3s are a type of essential fatty acid (EFA), and include eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), and alpha linolenic acid (ALA). In the body, ALAs can be metabolized into their longest-chain products, EPA and DHA, although this is not an efficient process. EPA and DHA are the only EFAs naturally found in cold water fish oil, making them an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids.
