Description
Oleicito di Iperico from Officina Naturae is an ointment, traditionally known as San Giovanni oil, used for pains of nervous and muscular origin. Useful for muscle bruises and bruising (hematomas).
Properties and benefits of St. John's wort oil
This oleolite is obtained by macerating in oil the buds and flowers of St. John's wort - Hypericum perforatum. In common use we recognize the anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and vulnerable (healing) properties especially for skin reddened by sunburn or excessive sun exposure. Topical application has improved wound healing by also reducing scar tissue (applied three times a day).
Precautions
It may be contraindicated to use it on the body before sun exposure, particularly if you are photosensitive or if you are on UVA-B therapy.
